Tidings from the East,
We were honored last meeting to have two fifty year awards and one fifty five year award presented by Past Grand Master Carey Carter. We share again congratulations to Brothers Frock, Smith, and Beatty. We were saddened by the death's of two Brothers Archie James and William Roberts who received their funeral service courtesy of Past Master Pat Pedden. We will keep both families in our thoughts and prayers and also Brother Colleli who had an most unfortunate accident. We celebrate that our Newest Entered Apprentice David Shaw is proficient and ready for his fellowcraft degree on the horizon. We reflected on what Masonry means through the perspective of the Entered Apprentice degree for our Masonic education and through discussion affirmed that at Waynedale we care for each other. I ask all who were present to remember to reach out and invite someone who was missing to return for our next meeting. And now for our goings on:
On Wednesday, August 8th we will have fellowcraft practice and masonic instruction on any parts in any degrees that newer and older members may wish to review. Pizza at 6:30pm and practice at 7pm.
On Tuesday, August 14th we will have the opportunity to have a lodge visit as Brother Pat will be assisting Columbia City Lodge with Degree work. Meal is at 6pm and the Degree is at 7pm. I am seeking two Brothers to travel with him. Please let myself, Bob, or Pat know if you can assist with this lodge visit and support Brother Pedden's good fraternal assistance.
On Wednesday, August 15th we will have our fellowcraft Degree for Brother Shaw. Degree starts at 7pm.
On Wednesday, August 22nd we will have Master Mason practice.
On Saturday, August 25th we will man the Waynedale community picnic from 10 until 3pm. We will be manning the hotdog grill again. Details still pending regarding the CHIP packet handout.
On Wednesday, August 29th at 6pm we will have our Waynedale Lodge family picnic at the LODGE! Brother PM Hamblin will be providing BBQ and Dogs with the rest of us bringing our own potluck yummies.
Finally, on Wednesday, September 5th please join us for our special Scottish Rite Night as we honor Past Sovereign Grand Commander and Waynedale Brother John W. McNaughton who will be our special guest. We will highlight the Scottish Rite with excutive committee at 6pm, with a 5 course served ham dinner at 6:30pm, which will be a free will donation to a charity of Brother McNaughton's choosing, then in our stated meeting which will move quickly, as we will be pleased to host the Line of Perfection to confer the 4th degree to end out evening.
What a great and busy month, as a mentor of mine used to and still says "We are Waynedale!"
